Wenge wood is an exotic wood shipped from Zaire and other small countries on the Ivory Coast of Africa. Wenge wood's heart wood is dark brown, almost black and you find fine pencil-thin, light tan to blackish brown stripes that create a very unique appearance. It takes a special cutting skill to makes these lines more visible know as a quarter sawn surface. The shinny silver collar is a simple accent that helps give this cane its distinguished character. The surface of this wood has been sanded and finished to resist against cracking, splintering and damage from outdoor elements.
